Your success depends not on “who you are” but “what you do”.
In order to master any difficult skill like voir dire, you must first ask and answer three questions:
WHY do I want to learn this skill?
WHAT must I study to practice?
HOW am I going to do this?
The WHY is easy for most trial lawyers. We all know that if we have a great jury who likes us, is open to our theory of the case, and has a slight bias in our favor chances are we can get a good verdict. The WHAT and the HOW are more difficult to answer.
Voir Dire is the granddaddy of trial skills that you can’t learn through ai, by reading a book or even watching the best trial lawyers do it. At the Justice HQ Trial Bootcamp we will teach you the WHAT at our monthly webinars and show you the HOW and at our in person bootcamps.
For starters you will be introduced to the art of connection which includes eye contact, emotional congruence, acceptance, creating a bridge, glance control, voice cadence, creating space, going in and out of space, controlling the imagination of the jury and reflective listening.
As in the famous words of Gerry Spence – “It all begins with you” and we will give you the tools and guidance you need to succeed in the courtroom. Nothing has proven to be more successful in establishing greatness in the courtroom, absent a trip to the Gerry Spence Method program in Du Bois Wyoming. We will show you the skills required to give you the confidence and skills necessary to be a leader in the courtroom.
The goal of this program is to introduce you to how you can become the greatest trial lawyer you ever dreamed you could be. We will identify specific skills to help you in voir dire which will allow you to build confidence and maintain credibility with the jury while establishing a rapport with them. Also, more advanced skills such as weaving a connection between jurors will be modeled and taught for those with more trial experience.
